Educational Background
In 1994, Dr. Sanz received a degree in biology from the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts. From there, he went on to earn his doctorate in medicine in 1998 from the State University of New York, Health Science Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Continued Education
After earning his doctorate, Dr. Sanz continued studies in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. He served as junior, senior, and chief resident during his time at the University of Medicine and Dentistry at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. In 2004, he finished his final fellowship in colorectal surgery. During this period, he achieved expertise in all aspects of colon and rectal surgery.
Dr. Sanz has contributed to numerous medical journals and conducted extensive research in his field of expertise. He served as assistant professor of surgery at Hofstra/North Shore LIJ School of Medicine in Hempstead, NY. He has dedicated his career to providing his patients with the highest level of compassion and comprehensive care.
Dr. Sanz is certified in colon and rectal surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
Credentials and Memberships
Throughout his career, Dr. Sanz has received multiple certifications and licensures. He is licensed to provide advanced cardiac life support by the American Heart Association and advanced trauma life support by the American College of Surgeons.
In addition, he was certified by the New Jersey State Board of Examiners in 1999 and the Controlled Substance Registration in 2001. He retains a medical license to practice medicine in the state of New York and is board-certified in colon and rectal surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
